About
The Story Behind REVA™
I've been a software developer for over 20 years. I've built everything from enterprise systems to mobile apps. But the project that means the most to me is this one — because it was born out of a desire to serve God and to show others what He has done for me and can do for them.
AI is a Tool, Not a Teacher
I strongly believe AI should not be used to interpret the Word of God. As a developer, I understand what AI actually is — it's a tool. A powerful one, but a tool nonetheless. It doesn't have the Holy Spirit. It doesn't have conviction. It doesn't know you.
That's why I built REVA™ differently. The AI in this app never tells you what Scripture means. Instead, it asks you the questions. It helps you observe what's in the text, guides you to the original languages, and prompts you to apply what you've learned. The understanding? That comes from God, not a language model.
The REVA™ Method
REVA™ stands for Read, Engage, Verify, Apply. I developed this method to give structure to daily Bible study — the kind of structure that moves you from just reading words on a page to actually living them out. Each stage builds on the last:
- Read — Slow down. Read the passage. Highlight what catches your attention.
- Engage — Answer guided questions about what you observe and what it reveals about God, yourself, and the gap between the two.
- Verify — Go deeper into the original Hebrew and Greek. See what the authors actually wrote, not just what translators chose.
- Apply — Make it real. What will you do with what you've learned? Commit to something specific and be held accountable.
Still Read Your Physical Bible
I want to be clear: this app is not a replacement for your paper Bible and a pen. I strongly encourage you to keep reading your physical Bible. There's something irreplaceable about sitting with the Word in your hands, underlining passages, writing in the margins.
But we all have moments — waiting in line, sitting on the bus, lying in bed — where we reach for our phones and start scrolling. REVA™ is for those moments. Instead of doom scrolling, open the app and spend 15 minutes in God's Word. It's study on the go, not study instead of.
What's Next
The goal is to keep building. More resources, more tools, more ways to help people who are hungry to learn God's Word do it more easily and more deeply. I believe technology can serve the Kingdom when it's built with the right heart and the right boundaries.
If REVA™ helps even one person spend more time in Scripture and less time scrolling, it was worth every line of code.
Soli Deo Gloria — To God alone be the glory.
